Undergraduate Students

Two contrasting movements from solos.

One movement from a Classical Concerto, either Haydn or Hummel Trumpet Concerto.


One movement from a 20th Century Concerto, Sonata or Solo

Two contrasting etudes:

Examples: Brandt Etudes, Bousquet Etudes, Arban Characteristics Studies, Charlier Etudes

2-4 Orchestral Excerpts

All Major and Minor Scales

Graduate Students

Two contrasting Solos or movements from a Concerto or Sonata:

Examples: Haydn or Hummel Trumpet Concerto, Tomasi or Jolivet Concerto, Hindemith, Kennan or Stevens Sonata, Enesco Legend, Honegger Intrada, Bitsch Variations on a Scarlatti Theme.

Three contrasting etudes (or portions of):

Examples: Brandt, Bousquet, Arbans, Charlier, Snedecor, Bitsch, Smith Top Tones

4-6 Orchestral Excerpts
